Parking Crew is under DDOS Attack for the past week

Parking Crew, the popular domain name parking company, has been under DDOS Attack since last Friday.

They managed to successfully filter the attack pretty quickly and parked pages were only affected for a couple of minutes. Click tracking was affected for a longer period of time but full compensation for downtime was applied to the statistics of all affected accounts.

Although the DDOS is still ongoing as of today November 10, Parking Crew has been able to successfully mitigate the severity of the attack and has been able to maintain stability across its network.

Please find below all the information about the DDOS Attack that Parking Crew has shared:

“DDOS Attack on 2016-11-04

Hi Guys,

Unfortunately we have been the target of several very severe DDOS attacks since this morning. While we managed to successfully filter the attack pretty quickly and parked pages were only affected for a couple of minutes, clicktracking was affected for a longer period of time and the number of reported clicks might come in lower than it actually was for the day.

As a result of the DDOS attacks there will be a slight delay in the reporting of daily revenues – this means that revenues for Friday 04. November will be reported a day later than usual on Monday 07. November. Please be assured that compensation will be added to all affected accounts.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Cheers
ParkingCrew Support”

Please note that only a small portion of your revenues are not imported. The revenue reports from our Tier1 provider and all other Tier2 providers got already imported in your account successfully.

“DDOS Attack – Update. 2016-11-10

Hi Guys,

We would like to update you on the status of the DDOS attack that we have been fighting over the past few days. Although the DDOS is still ongoing we have been able to successfully mitigate the severity of the attack and have been able to maintain stability across our network.

Full compensation for downtime over the weekend has now been applied to the statistics of all affected accounts. You will also notice that missing tier 2 revenues have been added to the daily stats meaning that these are now fully up to date until 2016-11-07. We are missing revenue imports from one of our Tier2 provider for November 08th, 2016. We will update and finalize the account stats as soon as we received the corresponding reports.

We would like to remind you to make sure that your names are parked with us using one of the recommended methods:

– ParkingCrew’s nameservers (ns1.parkingcrew.net & ns2.parkingcrew.net) (preferred method)
– our custom CName-A record combination detailed in the „add domain“ area of your ParkingCrew account

Additionally, we would like to make clear that using only an A-record to redirect traffic to ParkingCrew is not an officially supported redirection method and can considerably harm your revenues during a DDOS attack.

Should you have any questions, please get in touch with our Support Team: support@parkingcrew.com

Cheers

Your ParkingCrew Team”
