Online Domain

A Lot Of Changes Coming On OnlineDomain.com – Please Post Your Suggestions

You may have noticed that I have not been posting as much as I am used to in the past 2 weeks. It is not like I don’t have anything to write, trust me I do, but I don’t have the time.

I am actually planning the changes that will be implemented on OnlineDomain.com in the next couple of months.

I have already upgraded to the latest WordPress build, something that I was postponing in fear of something would go wrong. I did the obvious (backup everything) and did the update. All went fine. (I think so. If you notice something wrong please let me know!)

Needless to say I am not too fun of the current look and feel of the blog. I created the website during a night, 3 and a half years ago using a free template offered by WordPress and after doing some customization. I made a few changes in the past few years but nothing drastic.

It is time now for a significant change. It is long overdue actually. I am in the process of designing the look and functionality of the new OnlineDomain.com on a test server.

What I want to ask you is tell me what you would like to see on OnlineDomain.com. More of something, less of something, new subjects etc. Please feel free to say whatever you like, don’t like or what is missing from my blog. Any request, comment, complaint, review, suggestion would be welcome. Thank you for your input.

Please follow OnlineDomain.com at Twitter @OnlineDomaincom for updates.

  1. Sorry but comments are not working at the moment… 🙁

  2. K-myself in light of MingChe.com (luxury car) selling for over $2million id like to see more “pinyin” articles such as NP has. We own about 20 of these re ZudeChe.com (rental car) and others and i think they will become hot. Thank you.

    • John, Stop dreaming Luxury Car dont forget you are in Rental Car wandering Chinese market at last you stop paying taxi charges.

      • What a foolish thing to say. If I listened to everyone that told me to “stop dreaming” when I was a kid I wouldn’t be wealthy, wouldn’t own a small hedge fund and wouldn’t be able to invest in domains as a hobby.

  3. What I have noticed is people (domainers) seem to like the ability to display their domains at times ( example shown above). You see it at NamePros and further evidence is shown by your very popular post, “Post Your Best New gTLD Domain Name.” …….Most domain blogs (not Online Domain) make it ‘taboo’ to mention domains in the comment section, treating domains as spam, oh the IRONY….I see an opportunity and a void in that aspect….Keep up the great work!…..In spirit of my comment I will mention my favorite domain that I own, Internet.Domains! 🙂

    • You are right but I think that not all posts are the same. And not all comments are the same. Yours and John’s are fine but other people just copy and paste their domains everywhere no matter what the context is.

    • If you can’t post a quality name from time to time-with some content of course- why even bother to read these blogs? You’re right-there is a void-I find it interesting that some blogs make it “taboo” exactly as you said-it’s actually a bit comical and probably why you hardly ever see posts from Rick Schwartz etc. If a broker sees the name we posted ,such as above ,and has Avis or Budget for a client-why wouldn’t he want to know we own it? Hertz owns almost the identical name in a very big way in China. These blogs-of which I think this is an excellent one-should be informative to all and that includes brokers looking for quality names.Again-you’re right-a real void.

      • K – I see your point!

John – I agree!……..BTW, I don’t follow the Chinese market like most, but I think you are on to something with domains like ZudeChe.com. Certainly worth the speculation…Glad you mentioned your domain. 🙂

  4. I like to see deleted domains such as mark from domainpicks.com as he has stepped back to do his radio show it was always great to see what names were coming up and who ended up with them love that section

  5. Hi Kosta, I’d like to see more info on the censored European markets. As an European you know Europe is actually made of different countries with different languages, none of them covered by Sedo, a platform that do not even permits to search domains by language. The same can be said for Flippa, GoDaddy, etc. Similarly Namepros never bothered to create real ccTLD sections, etc., so we have little websites in all the different European countries, where Europeans can try to sell and buy domains in languages other than English, but this is anything but an efficient situation.

Maybe you could do something to help buying and selling domains in European languages other than English, at least starting dedicating a section to the different websites where Germans, Frenches, Italians, etc.trade domains in their own languages…or maybe something more…

  6. “..at least starting dedicating a section to the different websites where..”
I wanted to say at least creating a section to list all those different websites where Europeans trade domains in languages other than English.
    Better than nothing…

  7. I think your blog is good as is. Just a bit of face lift, but other then that i think you got it on lock.
