  1. Have you noticed the start price for JD.club is a double of the other 22 two-letters? Why? Because JD is an existing business and brand with a record in Trademark Clearinghouse, and the registry is a greedy squatter. It’s a bad faith, unfair business. Period.

  2. @Marek, your name calling aside, every one of these two letter names has multiple potential meanings to a Chinese audience and can be the initials for multiple names, businesses and things in the Western world…

    • @Jeff, nobody is talking about meanings. My point is that you had “registered” all two letters names without allowing trademark owners to apply for matching .club names. Yeah, you didn’t have to, but instead of doing fair business you are now trying to maximize your profit by targeting newbies in China, putting them to very risky positions, since you are not going to tell them about trademark infringements. You intentionally support cybersquatting and you do it for you own profit. That’s what kind of businessman you are.

      • @Mike, thanks for expressing your opinion. We can agree to disagree. We do not support “cybersquatting.” If a generic term is used in an infringing manner there are processes in place to protect a trademark holder. Our preference is always for a domain name to end up with an end-user that will use the name effectively and appropriately. As a registry we invested heavily to obtain the rights to a top level domain, and continue to invest in the marketing and support of that domain. We are a business, and selling premium names – through our registrars, through aftermarket platforms, through auctions – is an important part of our business model to support that investment. There’s really not much else to say about it. Thanks.

      • Exactly, there is not much else to say. Holders of two letter registered trademarks had absolutely no chance to protect their marks, you didn’t allow them to claim matching .club names. You can’t disagree on that, because it’s 100% reality. Your marketing has nothing to do with it. You care about your profit, nothing else.

  3. What’s wrong with a porn site operator buys JD.CLUB? Do the trademark holders have trademarks for that?
