.Space Launched Today (here are a few domains registered in landrush)

Color_dotSpace.SPACE, Radix’s 4th new gTLD, went into general availability today at 16:00 UTC.

Radix says that “.SPACE primarily caters to passionate, driven individuals and groups who want to carve out a personalized space online. It is specifically targeted to freelancers, professionals, hobbyists and small business owners who can find attractive brand relevant .SPACE names without drilling a hole in their annual budgets.”

.SPACE domain names are available with over a 100 registrars across the world. Of these, GoDaddy.com, Gandi.com and Name.com have already contributed heavily towards Landrush registrations with approximately 44% , 15% and 11% of landrush registrations respectively.

Customers seem to have taken well to the .SPACE extension with a diverse variety of domains registered during the Landrush phase such as sushi.space, interactive.space and worldwide.space.  Other interesting registrations included battle.space, trendy.space and brit.space.

With the launch of GA, many more such names become available for registrations. Here is a snapshot of some available .SPACE names:

  1. Many, many names are reserved with a price tag of $xxx to $x,xxxx. Anything meaningful, really. And what the heck is ‘spicy space’ ?

  2. $600-$6000 for the better names as stated above is correct. Landrush was $10, tells you the value of the extension, just guys fighting over the scraps. Thing that happend is all these guys are now in the landrush auction together.

  3. I agree, best names taken quickly or with hefty premium annual renewal. Looks like no space for me.

  4. Worst service from radix/directi and lost the very valuable dotwebsite domains placed in pre-registration with them due to lack of technical support thereafter raised couple of trouble tickets even though they couldnt manage to improve their services and repeated same mistake drag me into loosing dotspace domains [ biz.space, 000.space & holo.space ] @GA

    * Being reseller and confident that they register dotwebsite & dotspace domains in pre-registration but they are failed in almost all new GTLDs
