Heritage Auctions Exclusive Premium Domains Auction Will Be Held At Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York

heritageauctionsHeritage Auctions will hold an exclusive premium domain name auction on February 9th at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

This auction will feature a maximum of 30 (it was 20 last month) domain names, so it will be very exclusive. Heritage is working hard to bring domain names into the mainstream spotlight, and a venue like this certainly will help their efforts.

With that said, this is a last call for your best domain names.

Heritage Auctions is seeking one word .com domains that are short and powerful like: Blue.com, Fun.com, Free.com, Gold.com etc.

They are also seeking LL and LLL domain names.

Aron Meystedt, Director of the Intellectual Property Department, said:

“We need names with attractive reserve prices. We want to build excitement and we want the press to notice this event.

For this particular auction, because of the limited inventory and the exclusive location, we’re mainly seeking only names described above.”

“We’ve had great coverage in the past: Forbes, NY Times etc. We will really work our PR contacts again for this auction. We do have plans to advertise in the WSJ and other financial news.”

“Thank you for your support so far. I am VERY excited to hold an upscale auction at one of New York’s historic landmarks. We are working hard to bring visibility for domain names to those outside of our industry.”

“Email me ASAP with names that fit what we’re seeking – send along your BEST reserve prices you can as well. I hope to see you in NYC in 2 months!”

The Waldorf Astoria is located on Park Avenue, just a few blocks from Heritage’s NY office.

  1. Great location, the beauty of domains, the internet, escrow.com, you don’t need all this to buy domains, get rid of the buyers premium, and hold it in a warehouse in the meat packing district, it is just all the same. The venue will not sell the names, the names sell themselves.

    • Because Great location attracts the Big Spenders! They do like and Glam and Glitz! Would Christie and Sotheby’s sell a Rembrandt at a Meat packing district and get $700 MM in sales? Nope!
Robbie, I do agree with you great domain names sell on their own but Big spenders sometimes don’t even know they are for sale.

      • Do you think Donald Trump is going to show up there to buy a domain, if and who that is anyone, and has millions to spend on a domain, I am sure they have access to assistants who can setup an online bidding account.

I do not except royalty to fly in for this domain auction. These venues are being paid out of the pockets of sellers with commissions for buyers, and sellers which is a joke.

This is not an art auction. Domains are not there yet.

      • And will never be because domains are not collectibles.
        I have discussed this here.

  2. No .nyc sales? If they are doing it in new york, might as well contact city and get some of the premium .nyc domains to sell. They are sure to get more media coverage if they add couple of .nyc names. They should have learned it from bloomberg, anything pertaining to being new and being connected to NYC will get much more exposure.

    • This would be a great idea, and an example how a high class venue could bring added sales by interested parties trying to get a geo lock.
