There were 22 domains sold in the first 3 Donuts EAP days for .rentals, .vacations, .flights, .cruises and .villas for a total of about $50,000 or more including the premium domains.
Back to the Donuts EAP sales: this past week the following 5 Donuts New gTLDs entered general availability with EAP: .rentals, .vacations, .flights, .cruises and .villas.
There were no domain names sold on the 1st day of the EAP for about $12,500 or more depending on the registration/renewal price (premium level or no premium).

There were 9 domain names sold on the 2nd day of the EAP for about $3,000 each or more depending on the registration/renewal prices (premium level or no premium):
Michael Berkens and Worldwide Media Inc bought the domain name great.vacations for about $3,500. The domain has a $875 premium renewal. (depending on the registrar it can be up to $1600)
TripAdvisor LLC bought the domain names holidaylettings.rentals, holidaylettings.vacations and holidaylettings.villas.
There were also 13 domain names bought at about $1200 each in the third day of EAP.
GraySky Media Holdings bought the domain name beach.rentals for $2,800 ($1200 EAP fee plus the $1600 premium registration/renewal.)
Michael Berkens and Worldwide Media Inc bought the domain name great.flights.
McComb, Inc. bought the domain names newyork.rentals and newyorkcity.rentals.
Cruise Lines International Association from cruising.org bought the domain name clia.cruises.
Aptenex Ltd bought the domain name villa.rentals. The domain has a $400 premium.
I also checked all the corresponding domain names in .com and found 3 domains that were sitting unregistered today:
holidaylettingsrentals.com
holidaylettingsvacations.com
holidaylettingsvillas.com
Yes these were pretty stupid.
A lot of the registered .com domains are owned by domainers such as Worldwide Media Inc.

You can register a domain name using the Donuts EAP that is available in registrars that sell Donuts gTLDs. EAP prices start at about $12,500 and are lowered within the course of the week until they reach the regular registration cost after the 7 day period. The EAP wholesale registrar prices are:

$2,500 (day2)
$950 (day3)
$500 (day4)
$100 (days 5-7)
Go Daddy’s early access prices are at about $12,539.99 for day one, $3,164.99 for day two, $1,239.99 for day three, $689.99 for day four and $189.99 for days five to seven. After day seven the regular registration cost applies.
I think Berkens has gone a little gTLD crazy. Great.flights? Maybe cheap flights, last minute flights, but who uses the phrase great flights? Greatflights.org, .co, .info, .eu, .us, .me, .tv, .biz are all available to be registered for $XX each.

great.flights is a mediocre domain. All flights are the same unless you fly first class. When comparing one first class flight to another there isn’t much difference. So what would make one flight great and the other not so great. A free drink? A hot towel? They are all the same.
It’s different when you are talking about great vacations, great trips, great hotels, great restaurants because each one is different.
great.flights for $3,500 plus a recurring fee every year of $850 is ridiculous. He’s going to have at least 10 grand in the name before anyone even wants it.
I dont under why anybody would pay 13k for a vanity domain..but what do I know

Great.flights sounds good, it has a promise to the visitor that they have great flights. Maybe price-wise, maybe private party flights, adult flights with special entertainment, 7 course diner flights etc 🙂
