Helios.net sold for $5,000 after been bought at auction for $1,514

The domain name Helios.net was sold at Sedo for $5,000. Whois has not been updated so the owner is not yet known. Helios is Greek for sun. The interesting part is that the domain dropped on the 7th of October and was won in an auction at Namejet 3 days later. The winning bidder paid $1514 to buy the domain. I was bidding in the auction but decided not to pay more but that was clearly a mistake.

The reason I was watching the auction was because I sold the domain helios.biz to a German company back in 2006 for 2000 Euro at Sedo.

The domain name hellios.com was sold in December 2012 for $1,149 at Sedo.

On a funny note you can visit http://www.helios.org/ and take a look at the first photo with the children for a true taste of Greece. 😉

  1. Don’t beat yourself up, that was a tough call in the aftermarket not easy to sit on a $1500 .net these days, but if you sold the .biz for $2k, congrats to you. never easy to sell any .biz.

  2. Greek words sell well. Helios was a good flip. It can still be flipped again for more; I’ve a similar story I’ll share in private 😉
