League.com sold for $40,005 at Go Daddy Auctions

The domain name League.com was just sold for $40,005 at Go Daddy Auctions. The auction had 143 bids from 23 different bidders.

The domain was registered in 1993, it expired on 11/08/2012 and can still be renewed by it’s previous owner. Will the auction winner get the domain name or the flawed Go Daddy auction platform will make another auction go south? Go Daddy made whois private on expired domains but the owner can still renew the domain name even after the auction winner has paid for the name.

  1. Domain has been in privacy for past 5 years…

  2. Weeks ago I sent inquiries to all historical whois email addresses – no response. Too bad for the current owner.

  3. Private, public, it’s almost sold. Isn’t that what the whole business is about? The owner will renew and has a rough indication of what the domain can sell for now. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lott of money i just expected higher numbers.

    Question.
Do you think companies like Afternic and SeDo are actually stopping or blokking daily traffic? Strangest thing is happening, i parked a few names left and right and one of my potentials received a lot of ‘visitor’s in three days. After that..nothing. Not 1. Less ‘traffic’ i understand, but from parking into a ‘hearse’…no way!

    Any thoughts fellow domainers?
